Black History Month: African American Inventors

Madame C. J Walker Was An Inventor, Business Woman And Self Made Millionaire. She Developed  A Cosmetic Line That Consisted Of  Haircare And  Beauty Products Which Was Extremely Popular In 1905. She Went On To Name The Line Walker Systems And Her First Product Was A Scalp Treatment.

Jan Ernst Matzeliger  Invented A Machine That Attached The Upper Part Of The Shoe To The Sole And Patented The Machine In 1883. His Machine Could Produce 150 - 700 Pairs Of Shoes A Day Cutting Shoe Prices Across The Nation  In Half. He Was A Workaholic And Worked Himself In To An Early Death. If he Could See How Far We've Come From His Invention Mr. Matzeliger Would Be Proud.
